Window of opportunity

IU’s archives and libraries hold more than 100 years of unique and rare time-based media that document subjects of enduring value to the university, state of Indiana, and the world. Unfortunately, time has taken its toll, and most of our holdings are on obsolete formats that are actively deteriorating. We’re capitalizing on the digital age to preserve them in the next five years.

Phases of digitization and preservation

IU will preserve and digitize its archival research holdings in six phases.
